Dear Angel in Adoption™ ,

On behalf of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), I would like to congratulate you on being selected as an Angel in Adoption™ award recipient for the 2007 Congressional Angels in Adoption™ awards celebration and gala dinner! Each year, Members of Congress are given the opportunity to select individuals, families or organizations from their home state, who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of children in need of permanent, loving homes. Your Member of Congress has chosen to honor you because of your dedication to adoption and positive child welfare practices.

The ninth annual Angels in Adoption™ gala will take place the evening of Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. We are pleased to honor you and the other Angels in Adoption™ from all fifty states and the District of Columbia for your work in helping the world’s most vulnerable children, those without the love and protection of a forever family. As a part of the Angels in Adoption™ gala, we are hosting an Angels in Adoption ™ Celebration on Capitol Hill the afternoon of
October 4 th to honor those chosen by their respective Member of Congress as a 2007 Angel in Adoption™.

This event boasts more Congressional participation than any child welfare event in the nation, with 193 members of Congress participating and more than 850 guests in attendance at the gala last year.  Along with the 2007 Angels in Adoption ™selected from all fifty states and the District of Columbia, National Angels in Adoption™ are awarded for their dedication to orphans and foster children on a broader, national scale.

As an Angel award recipient, you will receive 2 complimentary seats for the gala. Additional friends and family of the Angels may attend the Angels in Adoption™ gala below cost at $100 for adults and $50 for children.

Over the years, it has been tremendous to see so many of the Angel stories highlighted in the media. These stories have helped to raise public awareness about children in need of permanent homes and loving families; we hope to see your stories in print this year. We have enclosed a drop-in press release form, which you can use to generate local media. Please send us a copy of any press you receive so we can keep it on file for future events.

We commend you for your commitment to children and look forward to honoring you at the gala this October! Please be sure return a picture and your Media Release form either by email, fax, or mail. If you do not return the Media Release form by September 1, 2007, you will not be included in any program materials.
