Each Member of Congress is afforded the opportunity to highlight the good work of one of his or her constituents who works to improve the lives of children through adoption and foster care. In addition, participating Members of Congress will be celebrated during the events, in print and press materials, and their good work will be highlighted to Congress and the general public. Your boss also can issue his or her own press releases to gain additional positive media attention while continuing to raise awareness about the need for adoption.
April 25 - Selection Process Begins!Beginning May 25, you are invited to log on to www.angelsinadoption.org to select your Member's 2012 Angel in Adoption™ .Please note that CCAI does not make any Angel nominations nor selections. Any nominations that CCAI sends to your office’s attention is not an endorsement from CCAI. We are merely putting forth the nominations that are sent to us through our online nomination form as a tool for you to use. Your office will make the final decision on who to select as an Angel in Adoption™. July 31 - Deadline for 2012 Angel Selections!The official deadline is July 31, however, our experience has been that the Angels in Adoption™ need at least two months to learn of their selection and make appropriate travel arrangements to Washington, DC. Considering work committments and the expense of short notice airfare, this deadline will allow as many Angels as possible to fully experience the honor of being selected by attending the events in DC. Thank you in advance for keeping this in mind as you complete the selection process. August 27 - Angels in Adoption™ Released to the PublicOn August 27, CCAI will release to the public the Members of Congress who have participated in the 2012 Angels in Adoption™ program by honoring a constituent who has been an outspoken advocate for children. The list of participating Members of Congress and their Angels will be released in a national press release and sent to the Congressional Coalition on Adoption and community advocates. September 5 - RSVP for Your Member of Congress and StaffCCAI understands the busy, unpredictable schedules a Member of Congress and their staff have to maintain. We ask that Member's of Congress and office staff RSVP online to events by September 5 so that we can best accomodate you.
